Musician and Bar Italia regular Dave Stewart is planning a musical based on us. Still early days, but the story has made the press with features on the BBC and this one in last week’s Times newspaper

Singer Tony Christie was in the Bar recently taking part in a photo shoot for his new Single ‘Nobody In The World’ which was released by the label Acid Jazz. A new album ‘Now Is The Time’ from Tony will be released in Jan/Feb 2011. (by the way good to see Luca in the reflection in the mirror)

Elena Salvoni, 90, has worked in the restaurant trade for 70 years and is the best known Maitre D’ in Soho.

She has been hosting ‘Elena’s Lunches’ at our sister restaurant Little Italy (next door at 21 Frith Street) for the past couple of months. She is pictured here in the middle with Madness lead singer Suggs and his Mum at the very first one in October.

Well known London artist Ed Gray is currently working on a painting of Bar Italia, which will be finished in the Sping/Summer of 2011. Ed kindly allowed us a sneak preview of some of his sketches that are being worked in to the main project.
